Skeylja is an international artist-in-residence programme focussed around meetings between Dutch, Frisian, Icelandic and English musicians and video-makers. Eleven artists went to Iceland for a week and then brought the recorded material to Terschelling. A dialogue takes place through improvisation sessions in which collective audio and visual landscapes arise.2 hearts
Motion designer Max Hattler is a ‘moving image artist’ as he prefers call himself. The treatment of shapes, patterns and an abstract visual language is used to create stories and emotions.
Would love to see a full length movie with a strong narrative script based on his illustrations and motion loops.

These space paintings, as Ballard would say, seems to be the primitive syntax of a philosophical system, as meaningless but as reassuring as the pattern of waves on a beach.
Rivers as trees of life, cloudy hands raised in the sky, complex wind designs, oceans of sand are sorts of macroscopic pantomimes of an ethereal code, imprinted both inside and outside us.

A2-Type released in 2012 the Regular font. Designed by Henrik Kubel the font is a geometric sans serif, unmistakably inspired by Stymie and Futura typefaces and that’s exactly where this mix shows all the potential. The lowercase letters are more usable, especially in ‘regular’ sizes, 10-13 points. Quicker than the Stymie to read and still more recognizable than both Stymie and Futura.
